Welcome to the Merritt Island Volunteer Fire Department!


Merritt Island Volunteer Fire Department (M.I.V.F.D.) works in conjunction with Brevard County Fire Rescue (B.C.F.R). Our department supports specific BCFR stations. MIVFD assists and augments the paid crews at the four fire stations located on Merritt Island along with other city agencies and BCFR with in the 70 miles of Brevard from mims to micco. Primary stations are as follows:
Station 40- 6400 N. Tropical Tr, Merritt Island
Station 41- 300 Alma Blvd, Merritt Island
Station 42- 840 N. Banana River Dr, Merritt Island
Station 43- 902 Airport Blvd, Merritt Island
Each of these four stations is manned 24 hours a day with anywhere from three to six people. With either an engine or an engine and a rescue.
Our department also owns a 2002 Pierce Fire Apparatus (Engine 841). This engine is housed at Station 41.
Currently we have apprx 30 members and currently growing.
